Timahoe Tower

Timahoe’s impressive 12th century Round Tower is open to the public to investigate & explore free of charge.  The tower stands at 30m tall and is one of the finest of its kind in Ireland.

The visitor centre is staffed by volunteers, so opening times can be a little erratic, but there are signs explaining a little of the history, and it is worth a visit.

The small village of Timahoe is just 3 miles from here, and has a central green, a very nice children’s playground, a little shop, and a couple of pubs.
