The Slieve Bloom Mountains is a fantastic place to walk and explore. There are over 2,300 hectares available, and many options for walkers, but our family favourite has to be the short route to magnificent Glenbarrow Waterfall, accessed from the village of Rosenallis.
You start by following the woodland path through a dense, dark forest of trees that little red riding hood would feel at home in! Following the river on your way, you’ll emerge at the foot of the waterfall, which splashes down over great slabs of grey rock in an impressive manner.
For more advanced walkers, there are longer routes on from this point, and throughout the magical Slieve Bloom area.
