Glamping Under the Stars Wins Hospitality Award!

We are delighted to announce that our gorgeous glampsite has won the prestigious Midlands 103 Hospitality Award for ‘Best Glamping/Camping/Caravanning Experience 2019!

Glamping Under the Stars fought off stiff competition to be crowned the winner at the glamourous black tie awards ceremony in Tullamore on 27th May 2019.

The awards celebrate excellence in hospitality, and are based on a combination of guest nominations and stringent judging criteria from key figures within the hospitality industry.

Winners were told: “You are here tonight because you are the best of the best”.

We are so chuffed that our magical little glampsite has been recognised as something extra special by the judges! We know our guests love it – and many of them were kind enough to nominate & vote for us in the competition (a big thank you to everyone for that!). And, many more visitors have returned to glamp with us every year since we opened – so we must be doing something right!

Set in an idyllic location amongst the rolling countryside of Co. Laois, just outside the village of Ballyroan, Glamping Under the Stars really impressed the visiting judges. Guests can toast marshmallows around the campfire, sit out under the night sky with a glass of wine, and let the kids run free in beautiful safe green spaces. And, with a mix of canvas bell tents and unique hand-crafted wood lodges – all equipped with cosy beds and electricity – it’s a relaxed yet luxurious glamping experience, with all the comforts of home.

Popular with families during the summer, the glampsite offers six unique self-catering glamping accommodations, including canvas bell tents, handcrafted wood lodges and a shepherd’s hut. Furnished with proper beds, all bed linen is provided, and all units have electric lamps inside. So, guests can just arrive and enjoy!

Facilities include ‘The Glamp House’, (a well-equipped kitchen & dining cabin), a BBQ deck, a seated campfire area, and beautiful ‘hotel-style’ bathrooms. There is also a kid’s playhouse, sandpit and fairyhouse on site, as well as woodland walks right on the doorstep.

Family run, Glamping Under the Stars is also very family friendly, and we are always happy to recommend places to visit – such as the ancient hill fort at The Rock of Dunamase, and the Lake Walk at Emo Court, which are both very popular with glamping guests.

The glampsite can also be hired out for private hen or birthday parties.

It was great to win – for the glampsite and for Laois. Sometimes this beautiful county can be overlooked – but Laois really is fabulous, with so many interesting places to visit. Just take a look at our ‘Activities’ page for some suggestions. There are some super café’s restaurants, pubs and hotels (as well as an award-winning glampsite!) in the county, and the awards really reflected & celebrated how much we have to offer.
