Q: Do you have WiFi

A: No. The more beautiful the countryside, the less reliable the WiFi!

(We have a WiFi code which we use in the office, but coverage does not extend to the glampsites).

But we do have pretty good 4G coverage on the glampsite.  Many find it a nice change to get off the screens for a little while…

A: Check out is 10am.

Q: Is there a 24 hour reception?

A: No. Glamping Under The Stars is a self-catering accommodation. We do live onsite, but, much as we love talking to guests, we also have a young family, and cannot be available 24/7. If you need something urgently, call or text Kyra on 0860651485 between 9am and 8pm, and we will assist you as soon as possible.

Q: Why do Adult Groups have to book out the whole glampsite?

A: This is because we are a very family-friendly glampsite. Families are generally looking for a quiet, relaxing place to chill out and enjoy a holiday with their children. We undertand this and make it clear that this is a quiet family-oriented glampsite.

We do welcome adult groups, but they MUST book out the site so as not to disturb our family guests.

Q: Will there be a noisy hen party in progress when I come with my family?

A: No. We do not mix adult groups with family guests. Adult groups MUST book out the whole glampsite.

Q: What is there for kids to do on the glampsite?

A: Most kids love the adventure of sleeping in our quirky accommodation, sitting around the campfire, hearing stories & toasting marshmallows.  There’s loads of safe green space to explore, (including our lawn, wildflower meadow and Cullenagh Woods, a short walk from site).

Q: What is there to do nearby?

A: Laois & the surrounding area offers loads of fabulous places to visit. And many, such as The Rock of Dunamase, Abbeyleix Boardwalk, Emo Court Parklands, and Heywood Gardens, are free to enter.

We are close to the fabulous Slieve Bloom Mountains, which offer stunning walks, waterfalls, wild swimming pools, and some of the best Mountain Bike Trails in Ireland.

See our Activities page for more suggestions, or visit www.laoistourism.ie for more options.

Q: Do you recycle?

A: Yes. We recycle the vast majority of waste on the glampsite, and encourage guests to do the same. Please use the recycling bins provided & help us protect our planet for future generations of glampers.

Q: What else are you doing for the environment?

A: We are proud to be part of Ireland’s ‘Going Green’ scheme. This has helped us to plant more trees & expand our wildflower areas on both glampsites, in order to enhance biodiversity, create wildlife habitat, and support nature through our business. The trees, flowers, birds and butterflies are also very nice for our guests to enjoy!

Q: Is the Mountain glampsite suitable for wheelchair users?

A: Yes. We are delighted to say that our new Mountain glampsite is designed with wheelchair users in mind, with wheelchair friendly parking bays, smooth pathways and a wheelchair accessible bathroom available.

Q: Is your glampsite suitable for older people?

A: Yes. We welcome many older guests to both glampsites – both as couples or friends looking for a quiet and quirky get away, and particularly as part of  extended family groups. Our Mountain site is particularly well set up for older guests, and Glamping Under The Stars has recently been awarded ‘Age Friendly’ status for our Mountain glampsite facilities.

Q: Is there anything I need to bring?

A: Do bring your own towels, toiletries, and food & drink.

Other things that might be nice include a torch, (though there is low level lighting on the glampsite), warm clothing for cooler nights,  a guitar for strumming, skewers & marshmallows for toasting, champagne for quaffing, and your camera for capturing those memories…
